Thomas E. Dewhurst III

Attorney at Law

 

Thomas E. Dewhurst III has a general practice in New Hampshire and Maine. He focuses on municipal law, civil and criminal law, business law, estate planning and trust administration, personal injury, construction and contract disputes, insurance matters, buying and selling residential and commercial real estate, and land use matters. A substantial portion of Tom's practice involves municipal representation, which includes serving as General or Special Counsel for the local and county levels of government.

Tom founded The Law Offices of Thomas E. Dewhurst III in October 1988. Tom served as Carroll County Attorney in Ossipee, NH, in 2011 and 2012. The County Attorney is Chief Law Enforcement officer of the county. Tom was the supervisory attorney of a four-attorney office responsible for felony-level criminal prosecutions and jury trials, circuit court appeals handling jury trials and misdemeanors appeals throughout Carroll County.

Tom served as Municipal Prosecutor for the Jackson, NH, Police Department, and he was a police officer with the Conway Police Department for many years. Tom has also prosecuted cases for the Carroll County Attorney's Office, and for the Dover, NH, Police Department in 1983-1984.

Tom has been actively involved in several North Conway community activities including: the North Conway Rotary, the North Conway Public Library, the North Conway Fire Department and North Conway Ambulance.  He was an EMT & EMI for over 20 years.
